This bust is a detailed view of the face for Young Judy, a life-size bronze sculpture of Judy Garland (1922-1969) as she appeared in the early years of her film career, which has been planned for the garden at the Judy Garland birthplace in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This bronze will be funded through the sale of a special limited edition of 50 signed and numbered maquettes. The sculpture is mounted on a 1.5” walnut base. Only 50 maquettes will be cast, after which the mold will be destroyed. Laurie Shepherd has agreed that when a total of 50 maquettes of either the Young Judy or Judy in Concert sculpture has been sold, she will sculpt and cast the first life-size sculpture for the garden at no additional cost to the Judy Garland Children’s Museum. Whichever sculpture has the most orders will be the one selected for the first installation in the garden.
